The onboarding wizard runs automatically the first time you log in as the Primary. It’s how you set up your organization — RentSmart has no mandatory sales call, so this wizard is the configuration step.
Everything auto-saves. You can close the browser, log back in days later, and pick up exactly where you left off. Onboarding takes about 5 minutes end-to-end.

What you’ll set up

Welcome

A quick intro. No data entered. Click Continue.

Confirm your info

Double-check the name and email you entered at registration. Edit any typos.

Your business

Company name, phone number, and business address. The phone number is what leads will see if they have trouble accessing a property; the address is required so TransUnion can pull screening reports for your location.

Customize your listing page

Brand your Public Listing Page with a custom URL slug (e.g., app.rentsmart.com/yourcompany), an accent color, and your logo. You can skip this and use the defaults — you’ll be able to set it up later in Organization settings.

Invite your team

Add Editors or Viewers. Skippable — you can invite teammates any time from the Organization page.

Screening policies

Configure your Auto Denial Rules (income/credit/criminal/eviction thresholds) and Pet Policy in two tabs.

Showing type

Pick whether you’ll offer Self-Access, In-Person, or Both showings. This is just a default — you’ll still choose per property when you activate a listing.

Showing availability

Set the days, hours, slot duration, and booking notice for showings. If you picked Both in the previous step, you’ll configure Self-Access and In-Person independently.

Prequalification

Toggle which questions leads must answer before booking a showing — move-in date, pets, income, bankruptcy, eviction history, criminal record. Add custom open-ended questions if needed.

Screening terms

Review and accept TransUnion’s terms for credit, criminal, and housing-history reports. Required to enable tenant screening.

You're all set

Click Complete Setup to finalize. Your portal unlocks and you land on the Dashboard. Any teammates you invited get full access too on their next login.

Editing later

Every setting from the wizard can be changed later from its dedicated page: The wizard is a one-time convenience, not the only way to configure these.
