# Edit a property

> Update details, amenities, fees, owner info, and more after a property is created.

Open any property from **Listings** → the address. The **Individual Property page** is where every editable section lives, each with its own **Edit** button in the top-right corner of the widget.

## What you can edit any time

* **Property Details** — rent, deposit, beds, baths, square feet
* **Amenities** — interior and property amenities, including any custom ones you've added
* **Other Information** — fees included in rent, additional fees, utilities, lease terms, Section 8, special entry instructions, renovation notes
* **Auto Denial Rules / Pet Policy** — switch between Global and Custom independently for each
* **Property Owner** — owner name, phone, email, and the [scheduled lead report toggle](/properties/listing-report)
* **Internal Notes** — freeform notes visible only to your team
* **Photos** — see [Manage photos](/properties/photos)

## What's locked while a property is active

Two fields can't be changed while the property is **Active**:

* **Property Address**
* **Property Type** (Single-Family, Multi-Family, Condo/Townhome)

To change either, [deactivate the property](/properties/deactivate-delete) first, edit, then reactivate.

The **Showing Type** (Self-Access vs. In-Person) and the **assigned lockbox** are also locked in at activation — same workaround applies.

## How editing works

For most widgets:

1. Click **Edit** in the top-right of the widget
2. Make your changes in the modal that opens
3. Click **Save Changes** to commit, or **Cancel** to discard

Changes are immediate — no separate publish step.

## A few specifics

* **Fees** — pencil icon on an existing fee opens the edit modal; the × icon removes the fee *from this property only*, not from your global [fee templates](/screening-rules/fees).
* **Auto Denial Rules / Pet Policy** — when you switch from **Global** to **Custom**, the full rule set appears inline so you can fine-tune it. Switching back to **Global** discards your custom values and restores the organization-wide defaults.
* **Custom amenities** — type any name (max 50 characters) and check the box. A new blank row appears for the next one.
